BDC has recently been appointed by Sarawak Research and Development Council (SRDC) as the Project Management Company for the development of the Sarawak Infectious Disease Centre (SIDC).
The handing over of SIDC site to the earthwork contractor took place at Kota Samarahan on the 6th July 2022, which was witnessed by Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn, Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD), marks the beginning of the next phase of this project.
SIDC is the research facility set up by the Sarawak Government, that aims to equip Sarawak with the capacity to detect infectious diseases outbreaks that occur around the world and as well as for Sarawak, to have the ability to respond proactively in the event of pandemic strain hitting Sarawak.
The initiative is in line with the Sarawak initiatives to develop Sarawak Biomedical Industry and set the foundation to be at the forefront of biotherapeutic development using local resources under the Post Covid Development Strategy (PCDS 2030).
It was an honor for BDC to have been appointed as the Project Management Company (PMCo) to oversee the progress of this project.
